Seychelles shines in Italy as top Italian journalists visit the destination

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) through its representations in Italy organized a successful press trip for seven top Italian journalists in June 2019.

The aim of the press trip was to allow the Italian press to discover the destination and increase the destination visibility on the Italian national media.

Spearheading the project, the STB Director for Italy, Turkey, Greece and the Mediterranean, Ms. Monette Rose accompanied the group which consisted of three trade journalists – Mr. Andrea Lovelock for L’Agenzia di Viaggi, Ms. Eleonora David for Turismo & Attualità, Ms. Marina Firrao for Travel Quotidiano – and four consumer journalists – Ms. Sara Ficocelli for La Repubblica, Ms. Daniela Giammusso for Ansa, Ms. Livia Fabietti for La Stampa and Ms. Veronica Mazza for Cosmopolitan.

Seychelles Tourism expected to grow through the Air Mauritius connection networks

Seychelles becomes more accessible to the world as Air Mauritius landed back at the Seychelles International Airport on Tuesday July 2, 2019.

Fourteen years after its last flight to Mahé, Air Mauritius (MK), returns for a twice-weekly flight between the two neighboring countries and connecting Seychelles to other parts of the world making connectivity easier for potential holidaymakers.

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Mr. Didier Dogley alongside the Air Mauritius Senior Manager Sales and Strategic Cooperation Mr. Ben Balasoupramanien were present at the airport to welcome this MK flight, A319-100- the Mon Choisy.

Seychelles Tourism minister meets with hotel owners on another official visit

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Didier Dogley and his Principal Secretary for Tourism, Mrs. Anne Lafortune conducted a hotel visit in the south of Mahé on Friday June 28, 2019. 

The visit was directed in the south; around the region of Baie Lazare, Takamaka and Anse Forbans. The visit featured six hotel establishments, classified as small and medium hotels (containing between four to 32 rooms).

It started at the 32- roomed Val Mer Resort Hotel, followed by the Green Blue Beach House and Li-Al-Do Maison in Baie Lazare.

Seychelles key collaborators on the Brazilian market receive a taste of the Islands following recent visit of the head of Seychelles Tourism Board

The Seychelles multicolored flag was held high on the South American continent as the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), Chief Executive Mrs. Sherin Francis held an official mission visit in Brazil from June 16, 2019 to June 18, 2019.

Mrs. Francis’ visit, which was her first on the territory, was mainly purposed as a fact-finding mission and an opportune chance to meet the STB team as well as the travel trade there.

As part of her mission in Brazil, the STB Chief Executive met with key partners on the market specially in São Paulo in order to understand the Brazilian market dynamics better and to find ways to grow the business further.

Seychelles charms featured at South Korea’s Hana Tour International Travel Show 2019 (HITS)

Korean travellers and partners had a glimpse of the beauty of the destination as Seychelles featured at the 13th Hana Tour International Travel Show from June 7, 2019 to June 9, 2019 at KINTEX exhibition centre, Goyang City in South Korea.

The three-day exhibition gathered the participation of over 700 organizations and companies, including tourism boards, airlines, and hotels.

Seychelles, represented by its marketing body the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) was lodged within an 18sqm stand with the destination brand image design focusing the beach the granite feature, which commanded the attention of many visitors to the stand.

Seychelles participated in the 110th Session of the UNWTO Executive Council

The 110th Session of the UNWTO Executive Council met in Baku, Azerbaijan from 16th -18th June 2019. More than 40 Member States joined by representatives from the public and private sectors attended the meeting. Seychelles was represented by Minister Didier Dogley, Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine and Mrs. Anne Lafortune, Principal Secretary for Tourism.

The objectives of the UNWTO Council meeting are to bring together Member States for high level discussions on the direction of the global tourism sector, provide overview of UNWTO’s activities and progress over the previous year, and make key recommendations on the way forward.
